Selection of an actor or an actress for a movie was never an easy task and has become more complicated with the advent of new technology every other day. To leave lasting impressions in the mind of movie watchers, movies are being produced close to reality. Even selection of an artist involves lots of tests including some biological tests. Amir Khan Production had planned to make a movie on women sports in which Amir would have a leading role. They short listed wrestling as they had found an interesting story. The story had two key female characters who would become wrestler of international levels.

The search began outside the industry and interested candidates were motivated to give screen and other tests. There were two basic requirements for the prospective actress, they should be good actor and they should be good in wrestling. Those who were better wrestler but not so good actor were not preferred as the movie had so many emotional scenes which were necessary for the quality of film.

Auditions of more than 10,000 females were taken. All the females who were selected had to go through medical check-ups. The main part of medical test was hormonal test. The purpose of the test was’ if they can put on some weight or not’. Some bodies are so designed genetically that they cannot put on weight though, how hard they work out. Help of dietitians were also taken to test their physical endurance.

In the final round 3 girls were short listed who had managed to clear above tests. Finally Sanya Malhtra and Fatima Shaikh were selected who had everything the movie needed. It was followed by 10 days of various internal training.  They were also trained by national coach kripa to make them fight like international wrestler. The training lasted for two years.
